Access / excess


Access can be used as:
A noun meaning ‘a way of entering a place’.
            The ramp gave people in wheelchairs access to the building.
A verb meaning ‘to reach or get’.
            The person in a wheelchair used the ramp to access building.

Excess can be used as:
A noun meaning ‘too much’.
            The clothes that would not fit in the suitcase, were excess.
An adjective meaning ‘beyond what is needed’ or ‘more than is allowed’.
The passenger meaning with the very heavy suitcase had to pay for excess baggage.
